Junior Techno-Functional Consultant (Odoo ERP)

Role Overview

We are hiring a Junior Techno-Functional Consultant who has strong communication skills, a learning mindset, and the ability to work with both clients and code.

This is a client-facing + hands-on role, where you will gradually learn to understand business requirements, configure Odoo ERP, and develop custom modules under guidance.

This position is ideal for someone who wants to grow into a full techno-functional consultant in an ERP services environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Communication & Requirement Understanding

• Participate in client meetings (online / onsite) along with senior team members
• Understand client business workflows and pain points
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients
• Explain Odoo features in simple, non-technical language
• Take structured notes and confirm understanding with clients

(Good communication is mandatory for this role)

2. Presales & Demo Support (Under Guidance)

• Support presales activities such as demos and requirement discussions
• Help map client requirements to standard Odoo functionality
• Learn to identify when customization is required
• Assist in preparing functional inputs for proposals

3. Odoo Functional Configuration

• Configure standard Odoo modules such as:
  • CRM
  • Sales
  • Inventory
  • Accounting (basic level)
  • Project / Timesheets
• Understand end-to-end business flows in Odoo
• Perform functional testing and validations

4. Custom Development (Learning + Execution)

• Develop basic to intermediate custom Odoo modules
• Work on:
  • Python models
  • XML views
  • Business logic
  • Access rights and security rules
• Debug and fix functional / technical issues
• Follow guidance from senior developers when required

(Complex architecture decisions will be reviewed by seniors.)

5. Scope Awareness & Change Requests

• Understand approved scope and project boundaries
• Identify changes that may impact scope or effort
• Escalate potential Change Requests (CR) to seniors
• Learn cost and effort discipline from real projects

6. Testing, Go-Live & Support

• Support UAT and go-live activities
• Handle basic post go-live functional issues
• Assist in system stabilization and client clarifications

Mandatory Skills & Qualities

Communication (Non-Negotiable)

• Clear spoken and written communication
• Confidence to speak with clients respectfully
• Ability to explain things patiently and logically
• Professional behaviour in meetings and calls

Technical & Functional Skills (Basic to Intermediate)

• Basic knowledge of Odoo ERP
• Python fundamentals
• Understanding of Odoo ORM and XML views
• Awareness of business processes (sales, operations, finance)
• Ability to differentiate between:
  • Configuration vs customization
  • Standard features vs custom development

Attitude & Mindset

• Strong willingness to learn
• Ownership mindset
• Honest about limitations
• Disciplined in documentation and follow-ups
• Comfortable working in an early-stage company environment

Experience Level

• 0–2 years experience in Odoo ERP

Compensation & Terms

• Salary: ₹2.4 LPA
• Probation period: 6 months
• Performance review after probation
• Salary revision and role upgrade based on capability and contribution
• Project-based monthly incentives applicable
